Just a short time ago PKR Poker created their first ever poker team with six poker pros creating the new team. PKR Poker just announced the addition of a new member for the poker team, Karl "discomonkey" Fenton.
Fenton worked very hard to earn his spot on Team PKR Pro. Fenton is from the United Kingdom and he began playing poker at small stakes tables online while he was working to earn a degree in finance. But after a few months, Fenton was ready to move up to the high rollers tables.
Fenton then decided to take a break from school and try his hand at a full time poker career. He made a name for himself in November 2008 when he won the PKR Sunday Classic to earn $7,500. The then went on to make more than $200,000 while playing in online tournaments over the next seven months. Included in his cashes was the Main event win of $20,000 at PKR Live II.
Fenton commented on joining Team PKR Pro, he stated: “Quite honestly, the first career I have ever been able to see myself making a real success out of was poker. It is something I have a deep interest in and something I have begun to make work. Hopefully, this opportunity with PKR will prove to be the springboard to a lifetime of success in the game. Why not start in Vegas?”
Fenton is currently in Vegas playing in the World Series of Poker while representing the online poker room, PKR.com. Other members of Team PKR Pro are there as well as have played quite well. James Sudworth of the PKR team finished seventh in event #19 earning $54,777 and Kai Paulsen and Andrew Teng have cashed out as well at the WSOP.
