Absolute Poker recently started a new challenge at their online poker room which will see eight players competing against poker pro Phil Hellmuth. The Epic Nine will feature eight online pros pitted against Hellmuth at the poker table.
Poker fans either love Hellmuth or hate him, there is no in between, but most would do anything to have the chance to go head to head with him. Absolute Poker is now giving players that chance. A prize pool of $50,000 is up for grabs with first place earning $25,000, second earning $15,000 and third earning $10,000. A bounty has also been set on Hellmuth's head so any player who is able to knock him out will earn a ticket to a $200,000 event.
Absolute Poker provides players with several ways to qualify for the Epic Nine. Players can compete in cash games or tournament games to earn a spot at the final table with Hellmuth. Cash game players must finish high on the Absolute Poker frequent player program. Two free rolls will take place and those who are of Silver or Gold status will be invited to participate in one of the two free rolls. The winners of the free roll will earn a seat at the final table.
The winner of the multi-table tournament leader board for the month of October will also earn a seat. The Sit and Go leader board winner will be joining the final table as well. Players have until the end of October to earn their seat at the table with Hellmuth so there are only a few days left to qualify.
The Epic Nine Main Event will take place on November 10th at 9pm ET. The eight online players will join Phil Hellmuth at the final table and hopefully one will be able to take down Hellmuth and earn the bounty as well as the first place prize.
