As you've probably heard, bodog.com and other bodog domain names are no longer working due to an overly aggressive ruling on a frivolous patent infringement lawsuit by 1st Technology. Bodog rolled with the punches here and moved all of their sites to the new domain name BodogLife.com while they continue to fight to get their domains back. Amazingly, Bodog did not lose any ground as the market leader in the online sportsbook industry and they have successfully rebranded themselves as bodoglife. But now the fight with 1st Technology is getting personal as Calvin Ayre challenges 1st Technology frontman Scott Lewis to a mixed martial arts fight.
Ayre has offered to put $1 million in trust if Lewis is able to defeat Ayre in a MMA fight to be promoted by BodogFight. Seems like something right out of Vince McMahon's WWF playbook, but what the hell, we'd still love to see Calvin beat the crap out of the patent troll.
