Bodog Poker’s Mini Series of Poker (Mini-SOP), a much cheaper, online poker tournament created to mirror the ongoing 2008 World Series of Poker, kicked off May 30th with a $100+$9 Pot Limit Hold’em tournament; the same day as the WSOP kicked off with its $10k Pot Limit Hold’em World Championship Event. While the WSOP tournament was a two-day event, Bodog.com crowned its victor the same night.
From a field of 85 participants, Bodog Poker saw “dudix” take down the PL Hold’em event with a total prize pool of $8,500. “dudix” was awarded a 1st place prize of $2,500. The online poker player is no stranger to victory at Bodog Poker, having bested smaller fields with lower buy-ins on numerous occasions.
The Bodog Poker Mini-SOP will continue running alongside the 2008 WSOP, boasting 10% buy-ins of all 25 WSOP Hold’em tournaments up until July 3rd. When the Bodog Poker Mini-SOP comes to a close, one final tournament will be held on July 10th, awarding prize packages to the 2009 WSOP.
Bodog Poker is still giving away 6 2008 WSOP Main Event prize packages as well, worth $12,000 a piece. The prize package includes the $10,000 WSOP Main event buy-in, with another $2,000 for travel, accommodations and spending cash.
