Bodog Poker recently announced the introduction of its largest single-tournament guaranteed prize pool to take place August 10th, 2008; increasing the usual $100,000 guaranteed by more than double - $250,000. The online poker room is expecting a very large turnout as ongoing satellites and qualifiers offer a chance to win a seat for as little as $1.
Direct buy-in to Bodog Poker’s $250,000 Guaranteed is $250 + $20. However, most players are doing their best to earn their way into the record-breaking tournament at Bodog Poker by entering very cheap poker satellites and qualifiers.
There’s not much time left, as the qualifiers will come to a close on Monday, August 4th, but until then, a plethora of qualifiers, ranging from $1 to $58, are being held each and every day at BodogPoker.com.
Bodog Poker’s tournaments have seen increased levels of participation in recent weeks, and it would be little surprise if the online poker room receives enough entries to excessively raise the actual guaranteed prize pool well above $250,000.
Perhaps if the $250k GP is as successful as Bodog.com is surely hoping, the online poker room will gain enough regular poker tournament participation to present these higher prize pools not just as a promotional offering, but as a part of the weekly – or at least monthly – tournament line-up.
