The Bodog Poker Open IV finished up recently and it was online player MrElPaso who took down the Championship event. two hundred and fifty six players competed in the event and the final table was a hard one as MrElPaso had to take on tough opponents including “Bodog Ari” Engel.
MrElPaso earned just over $36,000 for winning the event and he is no stranger to success at Bodog. Back in 2008 MrElPaso made the final table of a $100,000 guaranteed event. Bodog Poker pro David Williams commented on MrElPaso’s win stating:
“I’d like to personally congratulate MrElPaso for his impressive victory in the Bodog Poker Open IV. His win cements his status as one of online poker’s newest stars, and I’m confident we’ll be seeing him at plenty of final tables to come.”
The Bodog Open VI main event had a buy-in of $500 and all of the players who made the final table were ready to compete. Bodog Pros David Williams and Evelyn Ng were both involved in the competition and Bodog even added an extra $25,000 to the overall prize pool to offer a total of $145,790 for players.
The Bodog Poker Open was a weeklong event and total it saw more than $368,000 in prize money and it drew nearly 2,650 players to compete. Williams commented on the Bodog Poker Open IV stating: “With the Bodog Poker Open IV, Bodog.com has given online poker players of all stripes the chance to win big while garnering the exposure they deserve.”
