Online poker tournament play was back to normal this weekend as the World Series of Poker continues. Numbers are just about normal at the online poker room tournaments including those at Bodog Poker. Last week many of the tournaments had an increase in numbers and the weekend guaranteed tournaments had good increases in their prize pools but this past weekend saw just the normal average of players competing.
Over at Bodog.com, six hundred and thirty players logged on to compete in the $100K guaranteed tournament. The buy-in is $100 plus 9 for players looking to be in the top ninety to earn a pay day. The top spot offered just over $23,000 so everyone was fighting to be the top position.
Competition would be soft as many poker players are down in Vegas taking in the sights and sounds of the 2009 World Series of Poker. This may be to the advantage of the not so regular poker player as they may now have a better shot at taking down a good size tournament prize pool.
When the Bodog $100K guaranteed got down to heads up play it would be either B Pars or ryane8443 who would walk away with the first place prize. The ball was in either court but when ryane8443 gained the chip lead he wasted no time in taking out B Pars for the first place finish. Ryane8443 would earn $23,600 for finishing in first place.
