BodogPoker.net Pro Evelyn Ng was the last hope for the online poker room to bring home a WSOP Championship this year, and though she fought hard throughout seven arduous days of competition, Evelyn NGâs combination of impeccable skill and favorable luck faltered on WSOP Main Event Day 4.
The Bodog Poker Pro, known as much for her flawless beauty as her unwavering poker abilities, was ousted in 238th position Friday just before the impending dinner break. Evyâs pocket 10âs ran aground when rivaled by pocket Kings.
According to BodogLife.com, Ng was plainly upset by the loss, believing she could have gone much farther into the Main Event. Even so, outlasting a field of 6,844 to finish in 238th position is remarkably impressive, and having a paycheck of $35,383 to show for it doesnât hurt, either.
Two days later, Tiffany âHot Chipsâ Michelle, a professional poker player and reporter for an online poker new magazine, became the âlast woman standingâ in the 2008 WSOP, taking the torch from last yearâs title holder, Bodog Poker Pro Maria Ho. In an interesting flip of events, it was Maria Ho interviewing Tiffany Michelle as she claimed the position; an absolute contrast to last year at about the same time, when the roles were reversed.
Currently, there are 27 players remaining in the 2008 WSOP Main Event, where Tiffany Michelle has the 3rd highest chip stack of 9,755,000. In the top position is Dennis Phillips with 11,910,000, followed by Craig Marquis with 11,460,000.
Everyone is waiting expectantly to see how things round out as â barring any unforeseen delays - today, July 14th, should be the final day of the 2008 WSOP. The anticipation is building ever higher as the eyes of the world watch in muted silence to see who will emerge this yearâs victor.
