The 2008 WSOP is well underway, as Event #15, the Ladies No Limit Hold’em Championship is studded with the beauty of Bodog.com Poker's fabulous female poker players. The elegant Bodog Pro, Evelyn Ng, joins Team Bodog Poker members Lacey Jones and Shirley Williams, each anticipating their own piece of a $1,082,900 prize pool.
A total of 1,190 of today’s most skilled female poker players converged on the WSOP’s Ladies event, but Bodog Poker was not the only direction to look for lovely competition. Longtime poker player and award winning actress Jennifer Tilly was on hand, along with Kathy Liebert, Van Nguyen (wife of Men “The Master” Nguyen), Erica Schoenberg, Diane Nguyen and the defending champion, Sally Anne Boyer; just to name a few.
On a humorous note – as is to be expected from some of today’s more boisterous male competitors – there were a few attempted entries that had to be declined, failing to qualify for the “Ladies” definition of the WSOP event. Allen Jeffrey, for one, was politely asked to take his leave.
Bodog.net team members Lacey Jones and Shirley Williams (mother of poker pro David Williams) were ousted from the WSOP Ladies event on the first day, but Evelyn Ng continues to hold a secure chip stack. At last check, Evelyn Ng held the 8th highest chip stack with 65,000.
Alice Talbot holds the chip lead with 98,000, as the remaining 41 participants work their way down to a final table of 9.
