FullTiltPoker, the world's second largest online poker room in terms of active player volume, is in the stage of final preparations to kick off the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) VIII. Starting May 7th and continuing through the 18th, the event will feature twenty-four tournaments, guaranteeing in excess of $10,000,000.
A FullTiltPoker Pro will host each individual tournament in the FTOPS VIII series. The diverse tournament schedule will range through all varieties of online poker, from NL Hold'em and Omaha, to Razz and H.O.R.S.E. Five events will guarantee a minimum prize pool of $1 million, culminating to the final Main Event, with a GP of $2 million.
FTOPS VIII will start off Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. ET with Event #1, a $200 direct buy-in, NL Hold'em six-hander with a GP of $750,000. A series of tournaments will follow, including three "mystery" tournaments. Just before the Main Event, a two-day $2,500 NL Hold'em tournament will be held, offering up a GP of $1.5 million.
The FTOPS VII Main Event will begin Sunday, May 18, featuring a $500 buy-in and the largest GP of the entire series - $2,000,000. Jennifer Harman, Full Tilt Pro and the only female to currently hold two WSOP Bracelets, will be on hand to host the FTOPS VIII finale.
It is unclear what Full Tilt has in store in regards to the three "mystery" tournaments, but the online poker room promises they will be "unlike anything FTOPS has ever seen before." The mystery tournaments are schedule for Event #1 on May 8, Event #8 on May 11, and Event #17 on May 15. The buy-in for these tournaments is currently listed as "TBD" (To Be Determined).
FullTilt Poker is also promoting an FTOPS Tournament of Champions, to take place on the Saturday following the FTOPS VIII Main Event, May 24th. Seated at the FTOPS Tournament of Champions will be all event winners from FTOPS V, VI, VII and VIII. Up for grabs in this exclusive freeroll tournament will be one seat in the upcoming World Series of Poker Main Event.
Full Tilt Poker is currently running poker satellites on a daily basis, giving online poker players their fair chance at winning a seat in the FTOPS VIII at a much lower cost.
