Last weekend, FullTiltPoker.com drew a crowd of 3,580, its lowest since April 6, to the $750,000 Sunday Guaranteed. The below average field (compared to 3,551 in April), compelled FullTiltPoker.com to shell out an additional $34,000 to meet the guaranteed prize amount.
As the final table dwindled to two, the last men standing – or, sitting – were “msmatrix” and professional poker player Matt “mattyv” Vengrin. Though Vengrin’s proven skills at online poker are profuse, having turned pro just after college, he was no match for “msmatrix” on this night. Matt Vengrin was sent to the rails for a 2nd place victory worth $80,250, while “msmatrix” triumphantly claimed the 1st place prize of $132,788.
Another notable occurrence at the Full Tilt Poker $750k Sunday Guaranteed was the 8th place finish of Brian “SN8WMAN” Hawkins, who earned 200 more points towards the Online Player of the Year (OPOY) award. The final-table finish hurdled Hawkins into second position on the OPOY Leaderboard.
