The 2008 World Series of Poker has proved to be just as surprising and exciting as its anticipators have predicted over the last several months. The latest chapter in this ever-unraveling story of success and lucrative gains comes from the many members of FullTilt.net who converged on the final table of Event #18; a 3-day $5,000 No-Limit, 2-7 Draw Lowball event with re-buys and add-ons that kicked off June 9, 2008.
Team Full Tilt’s Mike Matusow and Erick Lindgren, along with FullTilt.net Pro David Benyamine, all made the final table of the 2008 WSOP event. Benyamine was ousted in 7th position, earning $58,990. Erick Lindgren worked his way into the 4th spot before exiting the table, worth $156,151. Mike Matusow, on the other hand, found himself going heads-up against Jeffrey Lisandro for the bracelet.
The last two competitors spent nearly two hours exchanging chips before a winner would finally emerge. In the end, it was Team Full Tilt member Mike “The Mouth” Matusow sending Lisandro to the rails to claim the 1st place purse of $537,862 and his 3rd WSOP Bracelet.
To date, Matusow has cashed in 22 WSOP events over his career, earning $2,715,248 at World Series of Poker events alone. Matusow’s total live poker tournament career earnings now total a whopping $5,654,471 with 52 cashes.
