It was another busy weekend at Full Tilt Poker, hosting its largest, regularly scheduled poker tournament last Sunday - the $750,000 Guarantee. A hefty crowd turned out for the event, resulting in a slight overlay.
A field of 3,644 took to the tables Sunday at Full Tilt, putting up the $200+$16 buy-in to participate in the event. Simple multiplication tells us that Full Tilt Poker only collected $728,800 of the guaranteed $750k, producing a $21,200 overlay that the online poker room had to cover. That's well under half of the profit FullTiltPoker.com earned in fees, however.
As the online poker tournament progressed, it was clear that the eventual final tablists meant business. One by one, the competition fell to the rails until the final table was set. Dwindling slowly, it came down to "spandit", “Wasaki coke” and “MicoTX” to battle it out for the top spot.
Exiting the massive tournament in 3rd place was spandit, whose efforts were not without reward. Spandit ended the day with a sizeable paycheck of $52,500 for the impressive finish.
Next came the heads-up match between Wasaki and MicoTX. Both showed impeccable skills at the table, but only one could be declared the victor. That honor eventually went to MicoTX, who collected a whopping $132,788 for the 1st place win. “Wasaki coke” also took home a hefty prize of $80,250 for his 2nd place finish.
