As of now everyone should know who Isildur1 is or not really who he is but what he has done. Isildur1 is the mystery poker player who has taken on top poker pros at Full Tilt and gave them a run for their money. Recently Isildur1 has taken a break since his bankroll is not what it used to be. Just a few weeks ago Cardrunners instructor Brian Hastings took Isildur1 for about $4.2 million.
However that is not the end of the story. Hastings then went on a roll being interviewed and appearing on podcasts to discuss the major victory. It was during that time that he made a statement that got him in trouble.
Hastings commented that people had helped him in his victory. He stated on ESPN's The Poker Edge podcast:
"Honestly, I give most of the credit to Brian Townsend here. Townsend analyzed a database of heads up hands that Isildur1 had played and constructed ranges of what Isildur1 was doing in certain spots. The three of us discussed a ton of hands and the reports that Brian made, so I’m very thankful to him and to Cole South as well."
Later on Full Tilt Poker realized that Townsends hand sharing was against some of their rules and regulations. Townsend lost his Red Pro status for one month as part of a punishment for his actions. Townsend commented that of the three poker pros, himself, South and Hastings, he was the only one to break the T&C of Full Tilt.
Isildur1 was not happy with what transpired and he commented: “I think I am going to put through a formal complaint. I do feel like I deserve to get something back. I feel that Hastings had a big edge over me due to the hand history database. They were able to dissect the exact way I was playing because they analyzed the hands so precisely, and it was impossible for me to adjust, as I had no idea they were doing it.”
It will be interesting to see if Isildur1 will receive any compensation. Hopefully he will get something for the incident so he can hit the high stakes tables and continue to bring excitement to the game of poker.
