Congratulations are in order for American online poker player "basebaldy" for taking down the Full Tilt $750,000 Sunday Guaranteed this weekend. This is basebaldy's fourth 1st place finish in an online poker tournament in less than a month, earning a combined total of nearly $150k.
Full Tilt Poker hosted its usual $750k GTD last Sunday, attracting a prominent field of 3,517 who paid the $200+$16 buy-in or won their seat in the tourney through satellites. The participation levels covered most of the prize pool, racking up $703,400, forcing Full Tilt Poker to cover the overlay with an additional $46,600.
The action got underway at 6:00pm ET, taking just over 9 hours for a victor to emerge. The 3rd place exit of “ZioStefano” ($52,500) brought about heads-up play between “basebaldy” and “playnwithnada”.
Both online poker players showed graceful skills throughout, but in the end, it was “basebaldy” who earned the 1st place prize of $132,787. “playnwithnada” took home a very respectable $80,250 for the 2nd place finish.
Nevada native “basebaldy” is no newbie to the online poker tournament scene. At just 26 years of age, he has accounts with all of the top ranked online poker rooms - Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars.net, Absolute Poker, UltimateBet, Bodog and Party Poker; each using the nickname “basebaldy” or “basebaldy31”.
In 2008 alone, basebaldy has racked up 190 online poker tournament cashes in only 341 days. That’s more than one tournament cash every 2 days, giving basebaldy one of the most prolific records in the online poker community.
