Another Sunday, another poker tournament, another massive crowd at the world's largest online poker room - The weekly Sunday Million took place at PokerStar.com this weekend, witnessing a great number of participants that drug the guaranteed $1.5 million prize pool slightly over the line to pay an extra $51,000 to the top finishers.
The Sunday Million drew in 7,755 entries; a number that quickly fell as the PokerStars.com tournament got under way. Hours of non-stop action saw the sizeable group diminishing, one by one, as sometimes skill, sometimes luck, resulted in the ousting of thousands of online poker fans.
The final table was eventually formed, and after some time, the inopportune elimination of "parachuting" - exiting in 3rd place for a respectable cash of $86,856 - left the determined talents of “xfadomas666” and “THE__D__RY” to battle it out in heads-up for the 1st place prize.
In the end, it was THE__D__RY who ousted xfadomas666 to claim the heaviest purse of the day, a handsome $189,998. The 2nd place prize of $128,113 was awarded to xfadomas666.
At 25 years of age, THE__D__RY, better known to his friends and family as Danny Ryan of Spain, is no stranger to cashing in online poker tournaments. Just 3 weeks ago, a 4th place finish in the www.PokerStars.com $400k Super Tuesday earned him $32,480. In September, Danny Ryan was awarded nearly $20k for a 31st place finish in the WCOOP $2m GTD Main Event, followed by a $13k cash at Full Tilt Poker only two days later.
