PokerStars.net, the world's largest online poker room, has expanded its already impressive line-up of professional poker players with the signing of Marcin Horecki and Alexandre Gomes. Horecki of Poland and Gomes of Brazil are both noted as top poker pros in their respective countries.
Less than two weeks ago, Alexandre Gomes became the first Brazilian native to win a WSOP Bracelet, taking down a field of 2,317 in Event #48, $2,000 No Limit Hold’em, winning the coveted bracelet, along with an impressive pay-check of $770,540. More amazingly, this WSOP Bracelet victory was Gomes first and only live tournament cash to date.
Marcin Horecki is a regular at PokerStar.com, making frequent appearances at high stakes tables. Formerly a professional alpine skier, Horecki has cashed three times in European Poker Tour (EPT) events since 2006. Marcin won 1st place in the Austrian Masters in June of 2007. His live tournament career earnings total $80,425.
Alexandre Gomes is not the first Brazilian to join the Team PokerStars Pros, as fellow countryman Andre Akkari also holds this esteemed title. It is suspected that PokerStars latest pro signings reflect their campaign to market further into the South American regions.
Poker players can put their skills to the test against Marcin Horecki and Alexandre "Allingomes" Gomes by seeking them out at the online poker room, as the elite skills of these two professional poker players can be found playing online poker exclusively at PokerStars.com and PokerStar.net.
