Sunday is the day of days for internet poker players as all the best tournament opportunities take place on Sundays. PokerStars is one of the online poker rooms that host tournaments on Sundays where regular Joes can make names for themselves as they take down online poker pros or win huge cash prizes for playing well.
Sunday night's $1.5 million guaranteed Sunday Million tournament had a huge turnout as 7,177 players logged on to participate in the competition. The buy-in is only $200 plus 15 and with that the $1.5 million guarantee was met and 1,080 spots were paid.
Outlasting the huge playing field to make it to three handed play was KipsterDK, philipoo and praetoriancz. The three had played very well in the competition and would be rewarded by being the only players to earn a six figure payday.
Praetoriancz would be the one to go out in third place earning an even $120,000 which would leave philipoo and KipsterDK to compete in heads up play. Both wanted the win as it would pay over $60,000 more than second place. In the final hand KipsterDK would knock out philipoo to earn the $225,000 first place win.
