| Poker Stars Awarding $1-Million In WSOP Packages - Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 09:10

Famed online poker room Poker Stars will be awarding a total of $1,000,000 worth of prize packages to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event. All told, 80 members of PokerStars.com will be able to win a seat to the largest poker event in the world.
Being such a tremendous promotion, one may assume that most, if not all, of these WSOP Main Event seats would go to only the VIP members of Poker Stars; but this simply is not the case. Absolutely anyone can qualify for the online poker room's WSOP give away.
Qualifying 'Round 1' tournaments take place every day throughout the week, starting 5 minutes past the hour, every hour. The top 50 finishers in each of these 'Round 1' tournaments will be awarded a seat in one of three "Million Dollar Giveaway Weekly Final" tournaments, held every Saturday at 7:30 a.m. ET, 1:30 p.m. ET, and 8:00 p.m. ET. A total of 4 WSOP Main Event prizes packages will be given away every Saturday at Poker Stars, continuing up until June 28th.
Winners of a Poker Stars WSOP Main Event Prize Package will receive the necessary $10,000 buy-in, accommodations at the Las Vegas 'Palms Casino', plus $2,500 for spending cash and other expenses.
Players who do not win their way to receiving one of the 80 WSOP Main Event seats up for grabs at Poker Stars, fear not - all is not lost. Poker Stars will also be awarding a current total of 829 (and still rising?) seats to earlier stages of the World Series of Poker. Players can prove their skills under the big lights of Vegas, earning their way into the Main Event through one of these many prize packages, as well.
