Sunday’s Online Poker Tournament Winners At PokerS - Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 17:42
For most of the world, Sunday is a day of rest and relaxation. For online poker players, however, when Sunday rolls around, it's time for concentration, contemplation and high stake poker on the Internet! Starting with the most famous online poker tournament at PokerStar, the Sunday Million guarantees a prize pool of at least $1,000,000. Repeating recent history time and again, a field of 6,747 hiked the GP up to $1,349,400, paying the top 1,143 finishers. After a tenuous battle, heads-up play came down to "Knogsgaard" and “swishes2000”, but “Kongsgaard” took the upper hand, along with the 1st place prize of $158,555.

The PokerStar Sunday Warm Up, guaranteeing $500k, saw 2,816 entrants paying the $200+$15 buy-in. The large field upped the GP to $563,200, paying the top 423 positions. Heads-up action came down to “targhan” and “Akademnuk”, but it was “targan” who would prevail, claiming the 1st place prize of $83,072.

Finally came the PokerStars “Second Chance” online poker tournament, with another $200+$15 and a guaranteed prize pool of $200k. As is the norm at PokerStar, there were enough entries to heighten the prize pool once again, this time to $260,400 as 1,302 participants took their seats. “gravesen11” went heads-up against “WiCane” at the final table, but couldn’t come away with the victory as “WiCane” pocketed the 1st place purse of $45,700.
