PokerStar Sunday Warm-Up and Sunday Million guaranteed tournaments saw a good turnout this past weekend despite the Fourth of July holiday. Players seem to have taken a break from the cookouts and fireworks to log on and try their luck at earning a nice pay day.
The Sunday Warm-Up had 3,884 players register, paying the $200 plus 15 buy-in to increase the prize pool to $776,800. The tournament has a guarantee of $750,000 so an additional $26,800 was added to give players more cash.
Five hundred and eighty five spots were paid with first place taking home $121,958. Both strip23 and pizzaiolo1 wanted to earn the only six figure pay out of the tournament so when heads up began it was a fierce battle. But in the end pizzaiolo1 gained the chip lead and took strip23 out on the final hand.

The larger tournament of the day was the PokerStars Sunday Million while saw 7,307 players competing. The buy-in was $200 plus 15 with $1.5 million guaranteed. This tournament did not see a prize pool increase so only 1,080 players were paid.
The top three players of this tournament earned a six figure pay day so everyone was happy to earn a big chunk of money. Teflon shaf, Lileor99 and javdark6 were the three left to compete for the top prize and the competition would be stiff. Teflon shaf would be the first to go earning $120,000 for his efforts. This left Lileor99 and jovdark6 to fight for the top prize. Jovdark6 would prevail and earn the $225,000 first place prize while Lileor99 earned $165,555 for second place.
