PokerStar.com recently announced that they will be making their presence known in the realm of live poker on March 19th when they open their new live poker room in Macau. The new poker room is called the PokerStars Macau at the Grand Lisboa and it is located on the second floor of the Grand Lisboa in Macau.
The new live poker room will be the largest available in Asia as it will have twenty two poker tables. Texas Hold'em tournaments will be plentiful and twenty four cash games will be available for players at all times.
The largest online poker provider will also be providing larger than life services at the live poker room. Players will find the largest regular weekly poker tournaments in Asia as well as the Macau Poker Cup a monthly series. The annual Asia Pacific Poker Tour Macau Poker Festival will also take place at the new poker room.
Opening weekend of the new poker room will see PokerStars.com celebrating the opening. The Macau Poker Cup will take place which includes the HKD 10,000 Red Dragon event. The Red Dragon will have an increased minimum prize pool this year of HKD 500,000 and several events will take place during the celebration.
The new poker room is sure to be a hit in Macau and I am sure we will see many tournaments taking place there. Poker pros will probably visit on a regular basis and it most likely will become the new "hot" poker room.
