Online poker room, UltimateBet, has announced the schedule for their 8th Annual Aruba Poker Classic which will be hosted again at the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino and Spa. The tournament series will begin on October 3rd and continue until the 10th with an expected 550 + players competing for the large prizes that will be available.
UltimateBet will also be celebrating their tenth anniversary at the Classic, which they have been celebrating for some time now. The Classic will kick off with a Welcome Party to begin the festivities as well as celebrate the milestone for the online poker room.
Phil Hellmuth commented on the upcoming Classic stating: “Aside from winning my 12th bracelet [at the WSOP], the week-long Aruba Poker Classic poker experience is what I’m looking forward to the most this year. Millions in prize money, more players than ever, UB’s 10th birthday bash, and unbelievable parties. I mean, what’s not to love?”
The 2009 tournament will have several events including a $500 plus $40 No Limit Hold’em Poker Tournament on the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th and the higher limit events begin on the 5th. The $5000 plus $500 Aruba Poker Classic Championship Event will begin on the 5th and continue through the 10th.
On the 7th a two day No Limit Hold’em tournament will take place with a buy-in of $2000 plus $100 while the 8th will see the $1000 plus $60 No Limit Hold’em poker tournament. Also taking place on the 8th will be a Charity Poker Tournament which will benefit the Aruba Community. On the 9th a $2000 plus $100 No Limit Six handed hold’em tournament will take place.
Along with Phil Hellmuth, UltimateBet’s Annie Duke is scheduled to compete as well. It will be interesting to see how well Duke plays fresh off of her runners up spot on Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice”.
