Brandon Cantu is the newest member of the UltimateBet Online poker team and he joins the ranks of the impressive players representing the internet poker room.
Cantu is representing the online poker room at this year's World Series of Poker and already he has picked up a WSOP bracelet. It looks as though UltimateBet made a great choice in signing Cantu.
Cantu will join Annie Duke and Phil Hellmuth on the poker team at UltimateBet. Duke commented on Cantu joining the team, stating: "This is an exhilarating time for Team UB. We’re constantly on the lookout for poker players who have real integrity, unquestionable talent and an incredible passion for the game, and we’ve found it all in Brandon Cantu."
Cantu has done well in previous WSOP events as he won his very first bracelet in 2006 at the $1,500 No Limit Hold’em event. He also finished in 20th place during the Main Event of the WSOP in 2008. This year, Cantu won the Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo 8 or Better tournament. That event had 761 competitors and with a buy-in of only $1,500 a large playing field was expected. Cantu beat Phil Watkinson in heads up play to take the first place prize of $230,000 and of course the gold bracelet.
Cantu has had an impressive career and it is no wonder that UltimateBet wanted to sign him to the poker team. He has earned over $2 million in total tournament winnings and continues to show his skill and knowledge of the game.
