Last week, UltimateBetPoker made the resounding announcement that it has signed on the newest member of Team UltimateBet, professional poker player Tiffany ‘Hot Chips’ Michelle. A former actress/songwriter turned professional poker player, Tiffany Michelle has found her name circling the headlines recently. It seems only fitting that Michelle be contracted by an online poker room with the same persona.
Tiffany Michelle was rocketed to fame in the poker community when she became the last woman standing in the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event. Hundreds of thousands of poker enthusiasts around the globe were rooting for Michelle to become the first woman to ever take down a WSOP Main Event, but alas, she fell a little shy of that landmark.
Finishing in 17th position, however, Michelle did break one record. She outlasted a larger field than any other female in the history of the WSOP ME. The newest UltimateBetPoker.com Pro did not get closer to the top prize than any other woman in poker, but the enormous field of 6,844 brought her, percentage wise, closer further through the WSOP Main Event than any woman prior.
‘Hot Chips’ Michelle was awarded $334,534 for the amazing - “Last Woman Standing” – 17th place finish in the 2008 WSOP Main Event.
It should come as little surprise that the 24-year old former actress and songwriter has joined forces with UltimateBet. After all, she donned UltimateBetPoker.net paraphernalia throughout much of the 2008 WSOP, mostly showing off the ‘UB Army’ logo - one of UltiamteBet’s newest team promotions –cameras rolling as she earned the status of “Last Woman Standing”.
I mentioned her name highlighted in poker headlines, and that last action – wearing UltimateBet logos – had a lot to do with it, as well. Reporting for PokerNews.com, a prominent online poker news magazine, Tiffany Michelle found herself in hot water for advertising UltimateBet. PokerNews opened a lawsuit against Michelle shortly after the WSOP Main Event came to a close for the final table break.
