Anybody going this year? I was planning on going to the Razz event but I think I am changing my mind and will instead spend that $2,500 on a chance to win a Main Event seat.

Well, I am still heading up to Vegas the first weekend in June and I am trying to figure out a way to play in Event #11, a $1,500 buy-in.

It wasn't looking good but I had a very good session at the charity poker house two weeks ago that helped me clear over $1,000 (well, it was a bit higher than that but I celebrated at a strip club afterwards ) That was a crazy session since I was actually down almost $1,000 then went on a huge rush that climaxed with a huge hand after I flopped top set on a draw heavy board that ended up with 3 players all-in and me needing to suck out after the turn completed the flush but thankfully the board paired on the river (I was down $1,000 due to losing in the same situation earlier in the session)

I plan on hitting up another session this weekend, if I can get another $500 I will probably have enough to play in Event #11. So when I win Event #11 I'll have enough to play in the main event

But I must be running well in life cuz I have another way I could get to the Main Event.

So a local radio station is having a contest to give away a package to the WSOP (the host is one of the higher rated radio guys in Cleveland AND is a huge poker nut as he plays alot at the charity place & has played some smaller events in the WSOP) What they are doing is picking 3 people a day (actually they call your name and you have 11 minutes to call in and claim your spot) and on June 1st they will pick the grand prize winner.

Well, I finally got around to entering in the contest and that same day my name was picked!!! So now I have about a 1 in 60 chance of winning my Main Event seat. But that is if everyone called in and claimed their prize, so more realistically I probably have a 1 in 50 chance at worst.

Naw, didn't win a seat. Ended up a 1 in 28 shot and I didn't win a Main Event Seat.

As for my Vegas trip... lost some cash before I went so I couldn't pony up $1500 for Event #11. Of course my first night I didn't win enough to do it (as Event #11 was day 2 of my trip). Won about $700 playing craps and went to the poker table and needing about $300 more to play but just couldn't do it and lost a couple hundred.

Of course Saturday night (I arrived Thursday night) was my big win at the table. I won over $2,000 at the $2/$5 table at the MGM. Started with a lucky flop AK v KK and flop was AAx. Then flopped a boat with JJ, and some guy tried to bully me and then he hit a smaller boat on the turn. It could have been bigger. A good player was able to fold QQ to my KK on a 10 high board. Pre-flop both of us put $400 in the pot and he folded to my $300 bet on the flop... bastard.

Of course this had to happen right before my group went to the strip club. So most of those winnings went to a lucky stripper, damn it!

I did set aside $500 for gambling the next day.

But I was there for a bachelor party/ 40th B-Day party for one of my buddies. I had to pony up since my other buddy paid for all the liquor (6 guys = $1,000 bar tab) so of course I bought dances for the guys!

If I had topless dealers giving guys hand jobs while playing poker available then it would have worked. But I'll take the grinding I got and how drunk I got.

Of course it still would have been cheaper to find a hooker like my other buddy did, or take the cabbies suggestion to go to china town. Would have been a hell of alot cheaper

But it is what it is.
