This is a Free Roll tournament for an iPod Nano and a $350 prize
pool (plus at least 1000 VPP Points in bounties). All you have to
do to qualify for this Green Chip Freeroll Tournament is
achieve green chip status in the
VPP Forum prior to the end of September (i.e., by midnight EST on
September 30).
Ready to learn a
new game? This month's green chip freeroll will be [dramatic pause]
- RAZZ! That's right, Razz....also known as 7-Card Low Stud. We
thought it would be a good idea to have a game that gives a chance
to those of us who can't ever seem to get dealt any decent cards; in
Razz the low hand wins! I think this game should be pretty new
to just about everyone, so you might want to go pull Doyle Brunson's
Super System off the book shelf and go read that chapter on Razz
that you skipped the first time around...
Another new
feature for this months Green Chip event is that it is scheduled at
a time that is more friendly for the VPP members from Europe (and
other countries outside of N. America). A lot of you have been
asking for us to schedule an event that doesn't start in the middle
of the night for you, so we wanted to try to accommodate so we're
going to try out having an event on a Sunday afternoon US time (2:00
PM EDT on Sunday Oct. 15). We'll see what kind of turnout we get and
then decide if this is something we want to continue to do every few
months (I know, I know....having the tournament be a game of Razz
instead of Hold'em will probably decrease turnout anyway, but we'll
try to take that into account). .
