Daniel Negreanu - Kid Poker

Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu is one of the best cash game and tournament players in the world today, with three World Series of Poker bracelets and tournament winnings, as of August 2006, that exceed $8,400,000. This is particularly remarkable because Negreanu only arrived in Las Vegas in 1995, at the age of 21. By 1998, Negreanu had won his first World Series of Poker title in $2,000 Pot Limit Hold’em, and in 2004, he won over $4 million in major tournaments and ranked second on the 2004 Money List. It was in 2004 that Negreanu won the World Series of Poker’s Player of the Year award and collected his third bracelet. He was also named Player of the Year by Card Player Magazine in 2004.  Daniel was recently recruited by PokerStars.comto be a member of the their team.

Daniel Negreanu, (Neg-rah-noo) was born in 1974 in Toronto, Canada. His parents had immigrated to Canada from Romania in 1967. Shortly before graduation, Negreanu dropped out of high school to pursue a career as a rounder, playing at local charity casinos and in illegal games in Toronto. After building up his savings, Negreanu moved to Las Vegas in 1995 to pursue his dream of playing professional poker. During this first stay in Las Vegas, Negreanu ran into personal financial difficulties and was forced to move back to Toronto to rebuild his savings. Upon returning to Las Vegas, his luck started to change quickly. In 1997, Negreanu won two events at the World Poker Finals at Foxwoods, earning $133,600 and being named the tournaments best all-around player. In the 1998 World Series of Poker he won $169,460 at the $2,000 Pot Limit Hold’em event and became the youngest WSOP bracelet winner in history to that time. In the following years, Negreanu won two World Poker Tour events, two more WSOP bracelets, and appeared at 11 final tables.  In 2007, Daniel teamed up with Stars.  Visit PokerStars.net today and be sure to use the Poker Stars Marketing Code in order to receive the best available bonus.
