Last week, Cake Poker announced a substantial increase in its guaranteed tournament line-up, include both weekly and monthly events. The Sunday GTD is now worth a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000, while the last Sunday of each month presents a minimum $250,000 GP.
Cake Poker played its first Sunday Guaranteed last weekend, after upping the original $75,000 prize pool to an impressive $100,000. The online poker room also introduced a more convenient time for players to gather at the tables, now hosting the Sunday $100k Guarantee at 5pm ET.
Come the end of this month, members of Cake Poker will have an opportunity to play in the inaugural edition of the online poker room’s new monthly $250,000 Guarantee. The first $250k GTD will kick off Sunday, August 31 at 5pm ET, continuing to run on the last Sunday of each month.
Cake Poker is hosting daily poker Satellites to its weekly $100,000 Guarantee. The online poker room is also hosting cash and ‘Gold Chip’ Satellites to the big monthly event. Gold Chips are awarded to players as a part of the Cake Poker Loyalty Program. Entering a Gold Chip Satellite requires only the respective number of chips, rather than put up any cash.
While Cake Poker doesn't have the giant guaranteed tournaments that you'll find at Full Tilt or PokerStars.com, you also won't find the same number of players to compete against. So now that they've upped the ante with these very sizable amounts, the guaranteed tournaments at Cake may be a much better deal.
