Carlos Mortensen has been on fire as of late. The poker pro won his third World Poker Tour title just a few days ago and with the win, Mortensen is now at the top of the all time money list for the World Poker Tour.
Mortensen won the World Poker Tour Hollywood Poker Open, earning $393,820 for his win. The cash prize placed Mortensen at the top of the World Poker Tour All Time Money List. Mortensen is now tied with Gus Hansen for the most all-time World Poker Tour Wins.
The Hollywood Poker Open had 144 players competing at the Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. The tournament took place over five days as players competed for a piece of the $1 million+ prize pool.
Mortensen did well when the tournament began, so much so, that he made it to the final table with the chip lead. By the time three way play began, Mortensen and the other two competitors were pretty close in chips so it was anyone's game.
Mortensen would drop to the short stack before he would work his way to take the lead again. Mortensen would gain the lead again when heads up play began. He would face Mike Mustafa. On the final hand Mortensen would hit a king-high flush and win his third World poker Tour title. This made Mortensen’s all time earnings for World Poker Tour events to rise to $5,754,308.
