After months of failed attempts to re-enter the US market, DoylesRoom.com has finally reopened its doors to American online poker players. The online poker room's previous network, Microgaming, did not back down from its US restrictions, so Doyles Room severed ties and moved to the US-friendly Cake Poker Network.
Lead by legendary 10-time WSOP bracelet winner Doyle "Tex_Dolly" Brunson, DoylesRoom.netalluded to the integration of a new online poker network about two weeks ago with an email, sent on January 14th, to its members and interested parties. The email told of big changes to come at Doyles Room, including a larger player base, bigger tournament schedule and all new rewards program.
Members of the internet poker room should take note that the old software continues to run on the Microgaming Poker Network. You will need to download the new software from Doyles room to play on the Cake Poker Network.
Notable changes to Doyels Room Poker lie namely in the tournament schedule, game variety and aesthetic appeal. On the plus side, Doyles Room will be hosting a lot more tournaments, paying out a minimum of $5 million each month in guarantees alone. However, the ring game selection dropped a few notches, no longer offering 5 Card Stud, 5 Card Draw or Razz. The graphics aren’t quite as crisp as the old Microgaming software provided, but the avatars took on a major upgrade.
Ultimately, it is up to the members of Doyles Room Poker to decide the fate of the online poker room. Knowing that a lot of very loyal US players were forced out by Microgaming in 2008, we’re fairly certain the numbers will rise once more as Doyles Room again accepts US players on the virtual felt.
