The final event of Everest Poker’s Live the Dream contest is set to take place on January 9th 2010 and over two hundred players are expected to compete. The players qualified online to attend an exclusive final in Vienna. Ten of the finalists will win a one-year sponsorship deal with the online poker room.
This is the second time the Live The Dream contest has taken place. this time around the selection process will be judged by a panel from the Palais Auersberg in Vienna, Austria. Players were able to qualify in October and November by completing their profiles on a media platform. They were then judged on their blogging skills. during the final event the players will be judged on several points including live playing skills, Charisma and their social skills.
A player’s choice voting system will also be in place this year, which is a voting system by other players. Poker knowledge and skill will be heavily focused on in the final as the winners will be earning a $100,000 sponsorship. The winners will be sponsoring the online poker room in the top live tournaments around the world for one full year. This will include participation in the World Series of Poker Main Event as well as $30,000 in traveling expenses.
It will definitely be interesting to see who the players are that make up the final ten. The lucky players may find that they see great success during the live events. We may even see the sponsored players become the next big poker pro to hit the poker scene.
