The online poker room competition is fierce with PokerStars and Full Tilt hanging on to the top spots but one poker room is steadily giving them a run for their money. Online poker room PKR was launched just three years ago and with their release came the first realistic 3D poker room environment online players had ever seen.
The site has made a few announcements lately that are major milestones in the poker room's history.
On August 16th PKR announced they had signed their three millionth member to their site. This is an amazing milestone considering the site has only been operating for three years. The very next day, on the 17th, the online poker room celebrated their third birthday.
It took PKR just one year to sign one million players and just after their second year in operation, PKR announced the signing of their two millionth player. Now in their third year the poker room can announce yet another million players in one year. If the poker room’s success continues then we may see them announcing the same announcement of one million additions each year.
PKR has also announced their 3rd Live Poker event which will be held at the Loose Cannons Poker club. This event will take place on November 20th to the 22nd and is expected to have $180,000 in prizes. The main event of the event will take place on Saturday with a buy-in of $1,000 and this event has a cap of 150 players.
PKR has already begun offering satellites to the Live Poker event and player can compete for as little as $5.25. Space is limited for the events so those who are interested in earning a seat to the event should go ahead now and visit PKR to begin competing.
