| iMEGA Files Objections to UIGEA Regulations - Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 19:32

iMEGA, the Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association, has announced that they have filed formal objections to the UIGEA Regulations promulgated by the United States Treasury Department. iMEGA noted that the failure to define the term "unlawful gambling transaction" leaves these regulations open to ad hoc interpretation and potential corruption.
Additional, iMEGA warned that these proposed regulations could harm internet innovation in gnernal by imposing unprecendented burdens on the financial system.
